Among them, 112108 Buick GL8 luxury business cars manufactured between September 28, 2016 and July 24, 2018 were recalled, and 137845 Buick new generation GL8 cars manufactured between June 6, 2016 and October 11, 2018 were recalled.

The reason for the recall is that due to the fluctuation of the manufacturing process of the supplier, the vehicle within the recall scope may lead to the size deviation of the brake pipe joint, which in extreme cases may cause brake fluid leakage, brake pressure reduction, and affect the braking performance of the vehicle. There are hidden dangers. In view of the above defects, SAIC General Motors Co., Ltd. will replace the brake tubes for vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge, in order to eliminate safety risks.

Buick GL8 sales in the domestic market is objective, but due to the potential leakage of brake fluid was recalled in large quantities, the number of recalls exceeded the total sales in the past year and a half. Data show that Buick GL8 is a high-end MPV model launched by Buick in 2000. In the domestic MPV market, the Buick GL8 can be said to be a "benchmark" MPV model, even if it was "overturned" in China Insurance Research, and the A-pillar was seriously deformed, but it did not affect its sales performance in the domestic market at all. Data show that Buick GL8 sales reached 148121 in 2019 and 50307 in the first half of this year, second only to Wuling Hongguang's 84658.
