AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/01 Report--
According to the statistics of the automobile recall announcement issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in the past month, domestic passenger car companies issued nine recalls in July this year, involving brands including Buick, Dongfeng scenery, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Toyota and so on. The reasons for the recall included brake fluid leakage, CVT gearbox failure, abnormal hybrid system, and so on.
In terms of the number of recalls, the brand with the largest number of recalls was Buick GL8, which recalled as many as 249953 vehicles in July, followed by Dongfeng scenery 5801.5T model, which recalled 97524 in July, and finally Mercedes-Benz, which issued two recall announcements in July, involving domestic and imported models, with a cumulative recall of 5941.
Specifically, the Buick GL8 caught up with the last bus at the end of the month and decided to recall 112108 GL8 luxury business cars and 137845 new-generation Buick GL8 cars from July 31, a total of 249953, making it the brand with the largest number of recalls in July. The reason for the recall is the size deviation of the brake pipe joint, which may cause brake fluid leakage and brake pressure reduction in extreme cases, thus affecting the braking performance of the vehicle.
The recall number of Dongfeng scenery 5801.5T model is second only to Buick GL8. Due to the possible deformation and pollution of the main wire harness terminal of CVT gearbox, which may lead to the interruption of vehicle power, it is decided to recall 97524 vehicles from July 3, 2020. It is worth mentioning that Fengfeng 580 is the best-selling model under Dongfeng scenery, with cumulative sales of 79133 vehicles in 2019 and 15378 in the first half of this year, more than the total sales in the past year.
Mercedes-Benz, the brand with the most recalls in July, issued two consecutive recall announcements on July 10. Among them, Beijing Mercedes-Benz recalled 3710 domestic C-Class, E-Class, GLC SUV and 499 GLB SUV cars, the first three models are mainly because the material of the front seat height regulator does not meet the requirements, and the action of external force may lead to pipe fracture, thus increasing the risk of occupants injury during the collision, and the GLB SUV model is mainly due to the constant right rear steering signal, which to a certain extent increases the risk of accidents. In addition, Mercedes-Benz recalled 929 imported GLE SUV and 803 imported S-Class models, the former because the wiring harness under the right seat may not be wired as required, and the latter because of engine oil leakage.
The recall also includes Toyota, Bentley, Porsche, Lincoln, BMW and other brands, but the recall is relatively small. For example, due to anomalies in the hybrid system, Sichuan FAW Toyota recalled 1440 Toyota Prius; Volkswagen China recalled 1637 Bentley crossover due to possible damage to fuel pipes; Ford China recalled 9 imported navigators due to inadequate welding of seat headrest brackets; BMW China recalled 1637 imported X3 M/X4 M/Z4 due to possible fracture of steering crossbar. Porsche China recalled a 911 Carrera 4S because the threaded joint of the front axle differential bracket was not tightened.
When consumers buy a car, in addition to paying attention to the performance advantages, the reliability of product quality and the responsible attitude of manufacturers to customers are also one of the criteria for consumers to buy cars. Although the recall measures to some extent reflect the responsible attitude of the brand, once the car recall occurs, it will also put the car companies into a passive position, which may lead to a decline in sales and brand reputation. In fact, the reliability of product quality is much higher than the level of performance, which is related to the safety of car owners to a certain extent.
