AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/13 Report--
The car market has returned to its traditional off-season performance in July, but the epidemic affected the market growth trend in July this year, with an increase of 7.7% over the same period last year, with the luxury car market growing by 30% year-on-year and down 4% from the previous month. Market share remains at an all-time high of 15%.
Although the luxury market declined slightly from the previous month, it was mainly due to June, the last month of the first half of the year, and July due to the traditional off-season impact. On the other hand, the luxury market still maintains a historically high market share, which also shows that the high-end swap demand for consumer upgrading in the domestic car market continues, and some luxury cars are exchanged for quantity at price, which continues to form a trend of dimension reduction and suppression.
According to the ranking of luxury models released by the Federation in July, it has achieved more than 10,000 luxury models in that month, gradually returning to normal market sales in previous years, with the exception of individual replacement models to achieve sales growth.
In the luxury car sector, Audi A6L still topped the luxury car sales list in July, with sales of 17232 vehicles, up 71.5% from a year earlier, which has topped the luxury car list for several months in a row since April. In the first half of last year, Audi A6L was affected by upgrading, and the terminal discount failed to meet consumers' expectations, resulting in a relatively low sales volume, but as the terminal discount was gradually liberalized, Audi A6L's monthly sales basically reached the level of 10,000 vehicles. From January to July, Audi A6L still ranked first, with cumulative sales of 93659 vehicles, an increase of 63% over the same period last year.
It is worth noting that due to the revision of this year's new A4 model and raised to more than 300000, the Audi A4 list has appeared on the list since June this year, but due to the small discounts at the end of the new car, it still fails to meet consumer expectations, resulting in a significant decline in sales, with a cumulative sales volume of 12283 vehicles in July, down 15.3% from January to July, down 33.8% from January to July.
Mercedes-Benz and BMW brands are still strong, and sales have also recovered significantly as a result of the market recovery, with BMW 5-Series sales of 16477 vehicles in July, an increase of 23.1% over the same period last year. Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Mercedes-Benz C-Class both achieved small growth, sales reached more than 14000 vehicles. However, after the Mercedes-Benz brand achieved a relatively strong sales performance at the beginning of the epidemic this year, the growth rate began to slow, and the sales of both models did not grow for the whole year.
Volvo S90, a second-tier luxury brand, ranked sixth, with sales of 2996 vehicles that month, down sharply from a year earlier, while Cadillac CT6 sales rose only slightly by 1.2 per cent to 1761.
Huieng, a representative of Volkswagen's high-end sedan, has been in a state of malaise because of its awkward market positioning, with less than a thousand units in July and a decline of more than 40% in July and the whole year.
There are 10 domestic models on the list in the luxury SUV field. Since 2020, Audi Q5, which has been in the luxury SUV market for several months in a row, has been squeezed by other models, and its sales this year are far lower than those of Mercedes-Benz SUV. July. Mercedes-Benz SUV ranked first with 16360 vehicles, up 32.4% from a year earlier, while the BMW X3 ranked second on the July luxury GLCs list with 14059 vehicles, up 47.3% from a year earlier. Audi Q5 alone showed a year-on-year decline, with sales of 12716.
The January-July sales list is still dominated by Mercedes-Benz GLC, with total sales of 93248 vehicles, up 17.7% from a year earlier, far surpassing the 73200 Audi Q5 in second place.
It is worth mentioning that the Mercedes-Benz GLB, which has been on the market for less than half a year, has maintained monthly sales of more than 5000, ranking sixth on the July list, on a par with second-tier luxury brands.
Second-tier luxury brands all achieved year-on-year growth in July, with Cadillac XT5 sales of 6334 vehicles, ranking fifth on the luxury SUV list and the biggest growth for luxury brands, up 111.6 per cent from a year earlier, while Volvo XC60 reached 5617 last month, up 14.8 per cent from a year earlier.
The new power brand's NIO ES6 and ideal ONE sold 2610 and 2445 vehicles respectively in July. FAW Toyota Prado has been removed from the list in July because it has stopped production. Land Rover found that it sold 2030 vehicles in July, up 10.4% from a year earlier.
Judging from the overall performance of the luxury car market, the increase in July was very obvious, continuing the prosperity of the luxury car market. In addition to the demand for high-end car replacement brought about by the upgrading of consumption, the competition in the luxury car market is fierce, the phenomenon of price reduction for quantity is becoming more and more prominent, and the market share of luxury cars is also expanded. The luxury market under the epidemic can still maintain a strong growth trend, which has laid the foundation for surpassing the previous year's performance.
