AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/19 Report--
According to media reports, Toyota will recall about 243000 Camry cars worldwide, involving 2018 and 2019 models. It is understood that the recalled vehicles may suddenly lose power braking assistance, increasing the risk of collision. The reason is that "the relevant vehicle has a system that can provide power braking assistance when the driver presses the brake pedal." Certain parts of the system may wear out prematurely and may lead to a sudden loss of power brake assistance.
Owners of vehicles involved in the recall will receive notice in January 2022, and dealers will then inspect the vacuum pump and repair or replace parts.
It is worth noting that Toyota recalled the Camry. In recent years, Toyota has been recalled many times for different reasons. in November 2020, Toyota has 401873 Toyota vehicles worldwide because of fuel pump problems, including the Halanda, Asian Dragon, Camry and other popular models. Among them, GAC Toyota involved 232351 vehicles, including 187495 partial Camry cars produced from April 24, 2018 to May 24, 2019, and 44856 partial Henlanda cars produced from December 10, 2018 to July 11, 2019.
The reason for the recall is: due to the supplier in the low-pressure fuel pump impeller manufacturing process, the resin molding conditions are not perfect, resulting in insufficient resin density of the impeller. The impeller may be inflated and deformed due to the influence of fuel, which interferes with the shell of the low-pressure fuel pump, resulting in the poor operation of the low-pressure fuel pump. In extreme cases, the vehicle may not start normally or the engine will flameout while driving. There is a safety risk.
In January 2020, Toyota once again launched a recall because of defective fuel pumps! According to the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, Guangzhou Auto Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration on January 29th, deciding to recall a total of 53000 Camry and Hanlanda cars from March 31, 2021.
Toyota sold 142000 vehicles worldwide in October, according to relevant data. Camry sold 25285 vehicles in October, up 45.2 per cent from a year earlier. Some analysts believe that frequent recalls and quality problems or affecting the brand image and reputation of Japanese cars will also have a negative impact on their sales. However, in response to this view, Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the ride association, also said earlier that the recall shows that the above-mentioned car companies are improving and optimizing their products, and also shows the positive attitude of the car companies in solving problems. In this context, its sales volume and brand image will not be greatly affected.
