As a medium-term revamped model, the new car is mainly redesigned for appearance, offering two different front face designs, and some configurations are also upgraded to standard throughout the system.

As a medium-term revamped model, the change in the appearance and shape of the new Tanyue is still obvious. the shape of the double front face has a certain degree of recognition. Xuan Yue and Tan Yue X adjust the chain details inside the front grille to X-shaped elements, the front encirclement adopts a similar "fangs" design, the Lanyue GTE adopts a dot matrix design, and the front encirclement adopts a more sleek design. In terms of interior decoration, the new Tan Yue adds a 12-inch suspended central control screen, and the steering wheel also uses the latest three-spoke styling and is replaced with touch buttons, which does have some room for improvement compared with the old models. Tanyue is one of the best-selling models of FAW-Volkswagen, and it is also one of the best-selling SUV models in the market, but it has been complained by users for many months before. The main complaints include engine exhaust failure and high fuel consumption, among which engine exhaust failure and high engine fuel consumption are concentrated complaints by car owners. Many car owners reported that the blocking fuel consumption of Tanyue particle trap was too high, resulting in vehicle acceleration failure and increasing fuel consumption. Particle trap, also known as gasoline engine particle trap (Gasoline Particulate Filter, hereinafter referred to as "GPF"), its function is to capture carbon particles and other small particles before they enter the atmosphere, so as to meet national or local emission standards. It is understood that Tanyue is the second domestic SUV model launched by FAW-Volkswagen after the compact SUV T-ROC in October 2018, with a price range of 18.88-319800 yuan. In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 2.0T high-power engine of CUG and a 2.0T low-power engine of DBF, with maximum power of 162kW (220hp) and 137kW (186hp) respectively, matched by a seven-speed DSG double clutch transmission. Tanyue soon became popular with consumers, with sales of 20235 vehicles in its two months on the market in 2018 and 179428 in 2019, but sales fell to 168445 in 2020 due to the epidemic. After entering 2021, Tanyue may be affected by a shortage of chips, coupled with the impact of particle traps, the market performance is not very good, with a cumulative sales of 89339 vehicles for the whole year and 44519 vehicles in the first half of 2022.
