Two days ago, Volkswagen's new all-electric off-road vehicle ID. Xtreme concept car was exposed online, based on the ID.4 GTX model. The biggest highlight of the new car is a substantial boost in power and a range of off-road kits. Foreign media reported that future consumers may purchase the above-mentioned off-road kit in an optional form.

In terms of appearance, the new car basically continues the design style of ID.4 GTX, but it has been optimized in details. Specifically, the front bumper of the new car has a new crash bar and aluminum underbody cladding, the side of the car body, the roof of the new car is decorated with LED light strips, and equipped with 18-inch off-road rims with black flared wheel arches to add an off-road atmosphere to the vehicle.

In the interior part, the interior of the new car will adopt Alcantara material layout and be decorated with a brand-new orange tone, which echoes the exterior body color. In addition, the new car will also adopt brand-new seats. In terms of power, compared to the ID.4 GTX with dual-motor four-wheel drive, the ID. Xtreme concept car has a maximum power of 285kW, 87 more than the standard GTX model.

According to automotive industry concerns, ID.4 GTX is regarded as the first "performance flagship" of Volkswagen ID. family, and it is also the first model to use the GTX logo. On the day of the launch of the new car, Volkswagen said that ID.4 GTX will release a signal to the outside world that "sustainability and sportiness are not mutually exclusive".

On April 28,2021, Volkswagen ID.4 GTX was officially launched. As the first performance car of Volkswagen ID family, ID.4 GTX model was built based on the ordinary version of ID.4 model. The new car was only adjusted in appearance and power. The front face of the new car features an exclusive sports kit and LED light sources in the front fog lamp area, surrounded by a black honeycomb grille. The overall shape of the side of the new car is consistent with ID.4, and only the words "GTX" are inlaid on the front fender. In terms of power, the new car uses a dual-motor powertrain and is equipped with a four-wheel drive system. The maximum power is 223kW, the zero-hundred acceleration time is 6.2s, and the maximum range under WLTP is 480km.
