A few days ago, Chevrolet officially launched a new generation of patrol leader (Traverse). The patrol leader of this release is the latest third-generation model of the series, positioning medium and large SUV, between Blazer and Tahoe. According to the plan, the new car will be launched in the North American market in early 2024. It is not clear whether the new car will be introduced into China.

As a replacement model, the appearance, interior decoration and power of the new car have undergone obvious changes, and the whole is more hardline. The new generation of patrol leaders have a total of four optional models, of which the Z71 is a new off-road kit. Compared with the ordinary version, the Z71 has a brand new front and rear bumper, its own styling 18-inch rims and all-terrain tires. The chassis ground clearance is 1 inch higher than that of the ordinary version.

Specifically, the front face of the new car is designed with a large front grille, with split lamp groups on both sides, and the daylight belt above becomes more flat and sturdy. The inner side is no longer wrapped with chromium-plated strips, and the upper grille as a whole has become more square, with near and far light groups similar to triangles on the left and right sides, with a very high degree of overall recognition.

On the side of the body, the new car continues the forward-tilted C-column and blackened D-column details with the characteristics of the previous generation of patrol leaders, together with the straight and tall body, large-size wheels and tires and other details. In the rear part, the new car adopts through-type taillight design, and the dotted light strip drawn by the Chevrolet logo becomes two on the left and right sides and bifurcates again, which makes it more recognizable. In addition, the new car exhaust adopts bilateral four-way layout, which further enhances the sense of movement and fashion of the whole car.

In the interior part, the new car center console uses a brand new 17.7inch double screen, adding wireless charging of mobile phones and vehicle Wi-Fi hotspots, and the whole car is equipped with 6 USB interfaces. At the same time, the new car also adopts a brand-new gear shift. In terms of seat layout, the new car can be arranged with 7 or 8 seats.

In terms of power, the new car abandoned the previous generation's 3.6-liter V6 naturally aspirated engine and replaced it with a brand new 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 319 horsepower and a maximum torque of 429N ·m. The transmission system matches the eight-speed automatic gearbox and can be equipped with four-wheel drive system. For comparison, the previous generation of patrol leaders were equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with a maximum power of 210 kilowatts and a peak torque of 361 Nm. The transmission system matched with the 2.5T engine was an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Traverse is a medium-and large-scale SUV model under the Chevrolet brand. Before that, the second-generation patrol leader has been introduced into China through import channels. The guiding price of 2018 models is 380000 yuan, which mainly competes with Ford explorers and Toyota Grand Hanlanda. As for whether the new generation of patrol leaders will introduce domestic products, there is no clear news at present.
