On July 29th, Jetta Motor's new medium-sized SUV-- X70 PRO officially launched, launching a total of seven models with a price range of 10.29-159900 yuan. For comparison, the price range of the 2023 Jetway X70 is 87900-116900 yuan, which means that the starting price of the new car is 15000 yuan higher than that of the 2023 Jetway X70.

As a new model, the appearance and interior of the new car have been greatly adjusted, and the visual effect looks younger and more dynamic. Specifically, in terms of appearance, the overall shape of the new car uses a design language similar to the current Jettos X70 PLUS, but the front face is replaced with a new style of front grille, officially known as "V-shaped feather matrix grille", the interior of the grille is decorated with chrome plating, and the front is equipped with LED square matrix headlights and daylight on both sides, and red decorative strips on both sides of the front bumper. Compared with the current X70 model, the new car is more dynamic and sharp.

On the side of the body, the rising double waistline of the new car creates a more athletic posture, but the roof does not use the popular suspension design. In addition, the new car is equipped with 20-inch large wheels and 62-inch panoramic skylights on the roof. In the rear part, the rear part of the new car uses a LED meteor through taillight, with a high brake light at the rear spoiler and a bilateral four-way exhaust layout. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4749/1900/1720mm and the wheelbase is 2745mm, which is consistent with the current Jetway X70 PLUS. For comparison, the length, width and height of Qiruihu 8 plus are 4722/1860/1742mm and the wheelbase is 2710mm, while the length, width and height of Geely Xingyue L is 4770/1895/1689mm and the wheelbase is 2845mm.

In the interior part, the new car adopts double color design, equipped with 10.25inch full LCD intelligent duplex screen, matching Huawei HiCar, and flat-bottomed steering wheel, hidden air conditioning outlet, electronic block handle and other configurations. In terms of seat layout, the new car adopts 5-seat and 7-seat seat layout, and the second row of seats can be adjusted and moved by 25-41 degrees.

In the power part, the new car is equipped with 1.6T 6MT/1.5T 6DCT/1.6T 7DCT/2.0T 7DCT and other power combinations. Among them, 1.5T version maximum power 115kW, peak torque 230N ·m, WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption 8.19L / 100km / 1.6T version equipped with Kunpeng turbocharged in-cylinder direct injection engine, matching 6-gear manual / 7DCT wet dual clutch gearbox, maximum power 145kW, peak torque 290N ·m, WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption is 7.75L/100km and 7.96L/100km respectively.

Considering the positioning and price of the new car, the new car will compete with the Ruihu 8 series after it comes on the market. It should be noted that with the increasingly fierce competition in the SUV market, the Jetway X70 PRO version will also face greater competitive pressure after it is launched.

Jetway is the auto product series launched by Chery Holdings Group in January 2018, which once belonged to Kairui Automobile. At the beginning of its launch, it adopted the model strategy of high configuration and low price, and quickly relied on the Chery channel end for layout. At present, it has a series of products such as X90, X70 and so on. Among them, so far, the Jettos X70 series has a total of X70, X70 PLUS and X70 PRO three models, the listing of the PRO can be regarded as a new Jetway X70 model.

Cumulative sales of Jetta cars rose 84.1 per cent to 112381 units in the first half of this year compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data. Among the subdivided models, the X70 is the highest-selling model under Jetta, with cumulative sales of 40575 vehicles in the first six months, accounting for 36.10% of the total sales, followed by Jetta Dasheng and X90, with sales of 15526 and 11192 respectively.

According to the plan, the future Jetway brand will put more competitive brand-new models, the new product strategy will be X, T, P, V four major product sequence layout, respectively focusing on SUV, hard off-road, hard pickup, MPV models, the formation of "4 urban SUV+3 cross-border series + N hybrid models" plan.
