AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/03 Report--
Following Prado, Pajero and other Japanese models have been announced to stop production, there is another Japanese classic model is also going to stop production, it is the civilian supercar "Nissan 370Z". Nissan will no longer produce 370Z sports cars from 2020, when Nissan will launch its successor model, which may be equipped with a gas-electric hybrid system, according to an official Nissan spokesman.
Nissan sold only 3468 Z-series models worldwide in 2019, while competitors such as BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra were replaced one after another, so Nissan decided to stop production of 370Z models in 2020 and launch its successor model (internal code Z35). The new car may be named 400Z.
The Nissan 370Z has been sold for a full 10 years since its debut in 2009, with few major changes. While other sports car manufacturers have been introducing updated models or complete redesigns during the decade when the 370Z went on sale, Z-series brands have slowly withered as sales decline. The 370Z has been an old car for a long time, and this year, Nissan's birth of the 370Z coincides with its 50th anniversary, so this time it unveiled a sports car commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 370Z series at the New York Auto Show.
In 2013, the sports car experienced a very small update, although the configuration has been upgraded, but its 3.7L naturally aspirated V6 engine has maintained 332hp power for a decade, and the $47000 Nismo version has a maximum power of 350hp.
According to foreign media reports, Nissan's new Z-series model will be launched in 2020. The new car, codenamed Z35 in Nissan, is expected to use 3.0L V6 twin-turbocharged engine, and the Nismo version is expected to have 475 horsepower output.
The new Z series may share the rear drive chassis and powertrain with the Infiniti Q60, while the new body will be one size larger than the current 370Z, with a two-door hardtop and a two-door convertible.
