AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)05/05 Report--
Earlier, a lot of internal information about Tesla was revealed by internal employees, including Tesla's quantity of scrapped materials in the production process, the company's confidential information, and so on, which indirectly brought pressure of public opinion on Tesla's side. Musk was certainly not happy.
A few days ago, Tesla sent an internal letter to employees of the company, warning them that if they disclose information related to the company to the media, or steal confidential information to other competitive companies, they may be fired, or face charges, lawsuits, etc. The email was signed by the Tesla security team and listed some employees' misconduct.
Tesla filed a complaint against a former employee who obtained trade secrets from Tesla, put them in his personal account and threatened to disclose company secrets, according to the email. In the email, Tesla also mentioned suing two former employees for stealing proprietary information and trading secrets over intellectual property issues. Another former employee uploaded Tesla's intellectual property information to his personal iCloud account and later left the company to go to a competitor. Tesla sued him, accusing him of stealing secrets.
Full text of the email:
Reading the news, you will know that the public is interested in any information related to Tesla. Because of our success, people will continue to want to see us fail, and they will do anything to stop us and make us fail. For example, someone will steal proprietary information for their own benefit and target Tesla employees through personal networks or social networks (such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter). These actions may not only cause damage to our company, but also break the law, put you or your colleagues / friends at risk of dismissal, and may even lead to criminal charges.
As employees and shareholders, everyone has a responsibility to protect all the information and technologies we use and generate every day. No matter who joined Tesla, they all agreed: "keep it strictly confidential and will not divulge, use, tell, or publish" any confidential or proprietary information related to Tesla. If anyone divulges proprietary business information in an improper form, or violates the agreed obligation of confidentiality, Tesla will take action. Including termination of employment contracts, claims for damages, and even criminal charges. If you still want a copy of your NDA, you can email your HR partner or send it to HR to get a copy. If someone asks for information from social media, don't respond, go directly to a secure email address. The security team evaluates to see if further action is necessary.
We know that not everyone leaks information intentionally or intentionally harms the company. For this reason, we want you to assume that your work is confidential and not to tell friends, family or people outside the organization about the details of your work.
If you feel that you or your team need to be trained, or you want to have an in-depth and full understanding of how to protect our intellectual property rights and confidential business information, you can contact us through a secure email.
If you are not sure which actions are unacceptable, which disclosures are illegal, or what constitutes theft of intellectual property, here are some recent examples that can tell you what misbehavior can have and what serious consequences it can have:
This month, an employee disclosed internal conference calls on social media. Later, the company confirmed the identity of the employee and was fired the next day.
Last month, Tesla filed felony charges against a former employee who obtained confidential business information from Tesla domain, put it in his personal account and threatened to disclose it.
A former employee uploaded Tesla's intellectual property information to his personal iCloud account, then left the company and went to a competitor. Tesla sued him, accusing him of stealing secrets.
Tesla sued former employees and a competitor, accusing them of stealing proprietary information and secrets and helping rivals skip steps that would have taken it years to build and operate its own and warehouse, logistics and inventory control businesses.
In January, the company confirmed that an employee shared confidential business information, including production figures, with reporters at Twitter. The employee was fired for violating the communication policies of NDA and Tesla.
Every employee has an obligation to respect and maintain our progress and sharing culture, and at the same time abide by the company's policies. Otherwise, it will hurt your colleagues, our mission and the work you do every day. By raising awareness and protecting your high-value work, you can help us accomplish our mission, and thank you for your contribution.
