On June 7, the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration issued a notice showing that Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. From now on, some imported Class A, B, CLA, GLB SUV, GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles with production dates from July 5, 2018 to February 19, 2021 will be recalled, totaling 51536.

The reason for the recall is that due to the deviation in the software development of the control unit of the combined instrument in some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the mark of the rear fog lamp in the combined instrument may not meet the provisions of the national standard on the rear fog lamp symbol. In view of the above defects, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will upgrade the instrument control unit software for vehicles within the recall range free of charge through authorized dealers of Mercedes-Benz.

Judging from the number of this recall, the number of recalls is not small. It should be noted that Mercedes-Benz has launched many recalls since 2024. Mercedes-Benz has launched six recalls as of press time, according to the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration.

On January 19, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 14 imported A-Class, C-Class, CLA, GLE SUV and S-Class cars manufactured from June 6, 2013 to June 12, 2018, and 36 domestic C-Class, GLA and GLC SUV cars produced during the period from January 14, 2015 to August 26, 2020.

Starting from March 12, 2024, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will expand the recall of some imported C-Class, E-Class, G-Class, S-Class, CLS, AMG GT, GLC SUV, GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles from August 2, 2021 to January 31, 2023, a total of 65191 vehicles. From March 12, 2024, Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will expand the recall of some domestic C-Class, E-Class and GLC SUV cars from July 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022, totaling 203248; Fujian Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will expand the recall of some domestic V-Class and Weiting cars from December 1, 2021 to March 31, 2023, totaling 14621.

On February 23rd, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 1 imported GLE SUV cars with a production date of June 12, 2023.

On March 29th, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 60470 imported GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles manufactured during the period from July 5, 2018 to November 2, 2023, and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Motor Co., Ltd. recalled a total of 204255 C-Class, E-Class and GLK vehicles manufactured during the period from December 2, 2010 to October 31, 2014. Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd., Beijing Mercedes-Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. since April 17, 2024, recall some imported C-Class, S-Class, EQE, SL and domestic C-Class and GLC SUV cars from February 6, 2023 to October 13, 2023, totaling 94574.

On April 12, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. recalled 2790 imported E-Class, CLS and GT vehicles manufactured from November 24, 2021 to March 10, 2023, 79 imported GLE SUV vehicles from May 3, 2023 to May 10, 2023, and 1 imported G-Class car with production date of April 5, 2023. Recall some imported GLE SUV and GLS SUV vehicles from July 5, 2018 to January 7, 2023, totaling 89674 vehicles.

According to the data of this year's cumulative recall, Mercedes-Benz has recalled a total of 786490 vehicles this year, a large scale of the recall.

For comparison, in the past 2023 years, according to statistics, Mercedes-Benz has conducted a total of 15 recalls, which is the highest number of recalls of domestic passenger car brands, with a cumulative recall of 655873 vehicles, ranking fourth in domestic passenger car brand recalls, including imported C-class, E-class, G-class, S-class, CLA, CLK, CLS, AMG GT, GLC SUV, GLE SUV, GLS SUV, ML, EQS. Domestic A, C, E, GLC SUV, EQE, V, Weiting.
