Mercedes-Benz (China) car sales show that the company has filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. Recall a total of 42 imported E-Class and S-Class cars produced during the period from June 26, 2018 to August 17, 2018.

Reasons for recall:

Because the contact shrapnel of the front seat belt latch does not comply with the manufacturing specification, the correctly used front seat belt may be mistakenly detected as unused. In the event of a vehicle collision, the electric active winding of the front seat belt and the function of winding through the exploder can not be activated, which will affect the function of the protection system, increase the risk of occupant injury, and there are hidden dangers.

Recall scheme:

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile sales Co., Ltd. will replace qualified front seat belt latches for vehicles within the recall range free of charge to eliminate safety risks.
