AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/03 Report--

A few days ago, the C-IASI China Insurance Automobile Safety Index of PICC Research released the results of the first collision test of the first model in 2019, the Guangzhou Automobile Honda Ling School, which is a Chinese special car designed for users in the Chinese market, so it is only sold in China. For such a special car with a Honda mark, users must be curious about its safety.

In all collision tests, the measure of car body safety is the "in-car occupant safety index", so we focus on how GAC-Honda Ling School's performance will be.

The occupant safety index includes four tests: front 25% offset collision, side collision, roof strength and seat / headrest (i.e. whiplash injury test). The test model is the second-lowest Ling School with a value of 110000 yuan, and the final overall score given by C-IASI is M (General).

Of these, 64km/h 's 25% offset crash rating is M (General), 50km/h 's rating is M (General), and the roof strength and seat / headrest ratings are G (excellent).

In the 25% offset collision of the front of the 64km/h, the damage to the front of the car is more serious, the video shows that the degree of collapse has invaded the cockpit, the A-pillar is extruded and obviously bent, and the shape of the door becomes larger. Another missing item is the large amount of intrusion into the lower part of the crew cabin, and the structural strength may be unreasonable.

As the low-equipped model is not equipped with side air curtain, the head of the dummy once hit the B-pillar position in the car body collision, resulting in some head damage. In addition, a safety hazard was also found that the fixed position at the back of the hood fell off during the impact and was inserted directly into the cockpit through the windshield, which may pose a threat to the driver.

The side impact is also rated as M (general), mainly because the dummy suffered impact injury to the head.

After the side impact, there is no case of Civic breaking the B-column, and the evaluation of the structural invasion is that the distance between the B-column and the midline of the driver's seat is 12.5cm. However, due to the lack of airbag protection on the front and rear sides, the head of the dummy directly collided with the window glass and C-pillar, resulting in a low head and neck damage rating. From the side collision results, it is better than the Civic tested earlier.

The other two roof strength and whip injury tests are G (excellent). Since 25% offset collision and side collision are both M (general), the final occupant safety index is also rated as M (general).

GAC Honda Ling Pai sells about 10, 000 units a month, with a cumulative sales of 47542 in the first five months of this year. It is Honda's best-selling Chinese special supply car with a manufacturer's guiding price of RMB9.98-139800.

According to the results of three batches of test cars announced by C-IASI, compared with the generally excellent and good results under the same standard crash test in the United States, the models produced in China are indeed miserable, not only lack of configuration, but also some differences in structural strength, which is really difficult to predict. China's special supply of this kind of models will be revealed one by one after more results are announced in the future.
