AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/03 Report--
Tesla car was punished again in China. According to the National Enterprise Credit Information publicity system, Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. added an administrative penalty information on July 30, showing that the type of illegal behavior was 010101, with a total fine of 50, 000 yuan. The penalty decision was made by the Chaoyang District Market Supervision Administration of Beijing.
According to the inquiry of the national enterprise credit information publicity system, Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was not punished this time. In September 2016, the company was fined 200000 yuan by the Chaoyang Branch of the Beijing Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce because it was untrue, inaccurate, or did not indicate its origin in advertising use data, statistics, survey results, abstracts, quotations and other reasons.
The punishment of Tesla is also shown as a "010101" type of illegal behavior, so the industry speculates that the reason for the penalty may be similar to that of 2016.
According to Qixinbao, Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. is also involved in 17 judicial proceedings, including sales contract disputes, product liability disputes and so on.
According to the enterprise information, Tesla Automobile (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was established on November 7, 2012, with its legal representative Zhu Xiaotong. The company's business scope includes: automobile retail; provide automotive technical advice; provide automotive technical services; charging equipment management and operation services (in the planning permitted parking area) and so on.
Tesla was punished and interviewed many times in China. In March 2020, Tesla's domestic Model 3 model was exposed by Chinese consumers because of its "reduced distribution" delivery, and the hardware of the vehicle controller was reduced from HW3.0 to HW2.5, but the environmental protection information was marked with HW3.0, which is suspected of domestic downsizing and deceiving consumers.
As the incident continued to ferment on the Internet, Tesla was interviewed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. On March 10, 2020, the equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology interviewed Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., aiming at the illegal assembly of HW2.5 components on some of Tesla's Model 3 models. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ordered Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to immediately rectify and reform in accordance with the relevant provisions of the measures for the Management of Road Motor vehicle production Enterprises and Product access, earnestly fulfill the main responsibility of the enterprise, and ensure production consistency and product quality and safety.
Tesla officially issued a statement in which the company admitted that some vehicles were equipped with HW2.5 and did not inform consumers that the solution would be to replace HW3.0 hardware for vehicles one after another.
In the first half of 2020, Tesla's revenue in China was $2.3 billion, accounting for 19.13% of the company's total global revenue of $12.021 billion, which means that Tesla's proportion of revenue in China is steadily increasing.
Tesla delivered 31000 domestic Model 3s in China in the second quarter, accounting for 30% of its global sales, and China has become Tesla's second largest market after the United States, according to CIFA data.
On July 23, Mr Musk said in a conference call after Tesla's second-quarter 2020 results that local procurement of parts could greatly improve the cost of vehicles produced at the Shanghai factory. At present, the proportion of local procurement is about 40%, which should reach 80% or more by the end of the year. It means that there is still room for further price reduction in Tesla's domestic Model 3.
