AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)09/12 Report--
On September 6, Nissan China released the latest data showing that Dongfeng Nissan (including Nissan/Qichen) sold 95,826 vehicles in August 2021, down 9.1% year-on-year. In terms of specific models, the sales volume of Xuanyi and Teana was 47,937 and 15,023 respectively, and that of Xiaoke and Qijun was 13,349 and 9,228 respectively.
Focus on Qijun's market performance. On July 30, Dongfeng Nissan launched a brand-new generation of Qijun. The new car launched VC-Turbo Super Engine 300 2WD and VC-Turbo Super Engine 300 4WD with a total of 8 models. The price range was 181,900 yuan-262,900 yuan. As a brand-new generation model, Qijun's biggest change lies in the powertrain. The new car is equipped with a 1.5T variable three-cylinder turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 150kW and a maximum torque of 300N·m, matched with a brand-new generation CVT gearbox. In contrast, the current Qijun is equipped with 2.0L and 2.5L naturally aspirated engines with maximum power of 111kw and 133kw and peak torque of 194N·m and 239N·m. From the data point of view, the power parameters of the new Qijun are indeed better than the old models.
Qijun, which is equipped with a three-cylinder engine but has stronger parameters than a four-cylinder engine, how does it perform in the market? According to data released by Nissan China, the sales volume of the new generation Qijun in August was 9,228. It should be noted that the official stressed that this is the sales of the new generation of Qijun, not the sales of the old + new models. As for how to treat the monthly sales of 9,228 vehicles, I will not comment for the time being.
Here we clarify two concepts, one is wholesale volume and the other is retail volume. Wholesale sales refer to the total volume of products supplied by automobile manufacturers to dealers, while retail sales refer to the total volume of products sold by automobile dealers. That said, the new Qijun sold 9,228 vehicles in August, which is actually wholesale, not retail.
According to the retail sales data released by the Association, the cumulative sales volume of Qijun from January to July 2021 was 83,066 vehicles, and the cumulative sales volume from January to August 2021 was 87,101 vehicles. It is not difficult to conclude that Qijun's retail sales volume in August was 4,035. It should be noted that this is the sales volume of the old + new models.
Some netizens said that Dongfeng Nissan officials have announced the sales volume of Qijun every month, 18583 vehicles, 10113 vehicles, 14418 vehicles, 14336 vehicles, 12855 vehicles and 11581 vehicles respectively from January to June, totaling 81886 vehicles. No sales volume was announced in July, and the cumulative sales volume from January to August was 87101 vehicles. That is to say, January-August sales minus January-June sales can get July and August sales, that is, 5215 vehicles, but the official August sales of 9228 vehicles, obviously inconsistent.
See here, what do you think of Qijun's market performance? In fact, whether it is 9,228 vehicles or 4,035 vehicles, the first month of the new car launch still does not explain what problems, or with a relatively optimistic attitude to look at, after all, after the new model launched, the old model will be delisted simultaneously (but dealers or a certain inventory), and the new model launched at the beginning of the preferential margin is small, if there is not enough product power or it is difficult to drive consumers 'willingness to buy cars. In general, if you want to see the real market performance of the three-cylinder Qijun, it will take a few months to verify. As for whether Qijun can break the "magic spell", it is also worth paying attention to!
