Earlier, there was news that Xiaomi might take on Beijing Bowo's car-building qualification, but this speculation was that as Beijing Bowo Motor applied for cancellation of its car production qualification in June this year, it meant that Xiaomi could not obtain qualification cooperation directly from Bowo. On Aug. 24, there was another news in the market that Xiaomi had received approval to produce electric vehicles (EV). At that time, officials said: "there will be no response".

It is understood that at this stage, with the rapid development of new energy vehicles, the national requirements for new energy production qualifications are becoming more and more stringent. In other words, it is not easy to obtain new energy production qualification now. After 2018, the National Development and Reform Commission basically did not approve the application for new car manufacturing qualification, which is why the new car manufacturing enterprises represented by ideal, Xiaopeng and Weima all obtained the production qualification through mergers and acquisitions. In addition, in terms of battery suppliers, it has also been reported that Xiaomi's primary and secondary battery suppliers have identified China Chuangxin Airlines and Ningde Times as battery suppliers at this stage. According to official planning, the first model of Xiaomi will be launched in the first half of 2024. With the advent of 2024, the veil behind Xiaomi car building will be revealed one by one.

Of course, Xiaomi has also invested a lot of money to build cars across the border. Relevant data show that in the second quarter of 2023, Xiaomi's intelligent electric vehicle innovation business cost 1.4 billion yuan.
