It is understood that the new Tuguan L Pro is based on the Volkswagen MQB Evo platform. As a reference, the price range of the 2024 Tuguan L currently on sale is 19.90-260800 yuan.

To take a look at the new car, like the overseas version of the new Volkswagen Tiguan, Tuguan L Pro will offer two styles of front face design, namely, the ordinary version and the R-Line version. The front face of the ordinary version of the car is similar to the front face design of the new Passat, the headlights on both sides are irregularly designed like golf, the center is connected by a black panel + light belt, the chrome-plated middle net runs through the entire front bumper, and there are iconic air intakes on both sides, and the headlight group is somewhat similar to ID. The family's design connects the headlights on both sides through a decorative board. The R-Line version is different at the front bumper, eliminating chrome strips and using a moving mesh grille with larger air intake openings on both sides and an "R" logo at the grille.

On the side of the body, the overall shape of the new car is still relatively round and thick, the segmented waistline design shows muscle lines, and the proportion of the whole body is basically the same as that of overseas models. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4735/1859/1682mm, the wheelbase is 2791mm, the length and wheelbase are consistent with the cash Tuguan L, the height increases 20mm, and the overall size does not change much. In the rear part, the new car is still designed with through taillights, and the front and rear surround the bottom and the side skirt are decorated with black elements to enhance the visual center of gravity and give the new car a certain wildness at the same time.

In terms of interior decoration, referring to the overseas version of the model, the brand new Tuguan L Pro is also adjusted in all aspects, which is equipped with a 10.25inch full liquid crystal meter and a HUD head display, and at the same time it is replaced with a 15-inch suspended central control screen, the latest multimedia system is integrated inside, the touch physical keys are retained below, and the driving experience control is arranged on the center console. Through the independent screen on the knob, the user can choose the driving mode. Adjust the volume or atmosphere lamp color, the area also designed a lot of storage space. In addition, the new shape of the air conditioning outlet and shield design, the central island station's storage capacity has also been improved.

In terms of power, the new Tuguan L Pro is built on the MQB Evo platform, the declared model is equipped with a 2.0T engine, the maximum power is 137kW and 162kW respectively, and the transmission system matches the 7-speed wet double clutch gearbox. It is worth mentioning that this is likely to be the last generation of fuel Tiguan, which may become an all-electric model in the future, just like the GTI.

It is understood that Volkswagen Tiguan was born in 2007, built on the same PQ35 platform of golf, and became popular all over the world as soon as it was launched. Since then, Volkswagen Tiguan entered the Chinese market as an import in 2009, with a price of up to 385000 yuan that year. In 2010, SAIC-Volkswagen officially made a domestic Tiguan and named Tuguan, with a price range of 199000 yuan, a larger wheelbase and a cheaper price, making it one of the most popular joint venture models in the market.

In 2017, the new Tuguan launched, based on the MQB platform, the wheelbase was further extended, upgrading from a compact SUV to a medium-sized SUV, and renamed Tuguan L, this generation of models have been sold for six years. As a medium-sized SUV, the main competitors are Buick Oncoway, Honda Crown Road, Volkswagen Tanyue and other models. Retail data show that Tuguan L sold a total of 161500 vehicles in 2023, ranking fifth in the list of Volkswagen brand models, with the top four models being Lang Yi, Suiteng, Passat and Maiteng.

Overall, the new Tuguan L will be available this year and renamed Tuguan L Pro, which will be sold in the same room as Tuguan L. the exterior and interior decoration will basically continue the overseas model design, with 2.0T engine + 7DCT gearbox powered. As for whether the new Tuguan L can continue the glory of the previous two generations, it remains to be seen.

In addition to the new Tuguan L Pro, SAIC-Volkswagen will also launch a new Passat, a new Polo, a production version of ID.next and a compact SUV this year, of which the new Passat sister model, the new Maiteng, has also been declared in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and is expected to be listed on the market this year.
