AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)02/21 Report--

In August 2023, people familiar with the matter revealed that the global auto giant Stellantis Group had been seeking the possibility of working with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers, including zero-run cars. In October of the same year, Stellantis Group acquired 20% equity of Zero Run Automobile for 1.5 billion euros (about RMB 11.5 billion yuan) and established a joint venture company named "Zero Run International" in a ratio of 51%:49%. The joint venture company is controlled by Stellantis and the cooperation focuses on overseas markets. Subsequently, in November, Zero-Run announced that the terms of the subscription agreement with Stellantis had been reached and that Zero-Run would issue about 194 million new H shares to Stellantis, with total proceeds of more than HK $8.5 billion.

Now, after taking a stake in zero-run cars, the cooperation between Stellantis Group and zero-run cars has made new progress.

According to the latest reports, Stellantis Group plans to produce Zero-sports cars overseas. Market sources say Stellantis Group is considering producing a pure electric car model of the Zero Run brand at its Mirafiori plant in Italy, with a planned production capacity of 150,000 units, which will be officially launched as early as 2026 or 2027. In response to the news that Stellantis Group is considering producing pure electric vehicles for zero-run vehicles in European factories, zero-run vehicles responded to Caihui: "Discussions on various business cooperation between the two sides are in progress, and the latest progress will be synchronized with everyone in time. "

It is understood that the Mirafiori factory in Turin, Italy is one of the largest automobile factories in Europe, mainly producing Fiat 500e and Maserati models, and is also the production center of Stellantis electric vehicles. Stellantis upgraded the plant in 2021 and said it would assign more electric production tasks to the plant in the future. Allocating production of zero-run cars to the Mirafiori plant could help Stellantis meet its goal with the Italian government to increase the group's production in Italy to 1 million by 2030 from 750,000 last year, the industry said.

Stellantis Group was founded on January 16,2021 by PSA and FCA, with a 50:50 shareholding ratio, and owns Fiat, Maserati, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Peugeot, Citroen, Opel and DS brands. In the Chinese market, Stellantis Group once owned two joint venture automobile enterprises, Shenlong Automobile and GAC Fick. However, after GAC Fick lost China, Stellantis Group has only one joint venture brand of Shenlong Automobile in China. Founded in 2015, Zero Run Automobile is a scientific and technological intelligent electric vehicle brand under Zhejiang Zero Run Technology Co., Ltd., which was jointly invested and established by Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd. and its main founders. It is a new energy automobile company focusing on R & D, design, production and sales of new energy vehicles, automobile parts and accessories.

The industry believes that Stellantis Group's cooperation with Chinese automobile enterprises is a shortcut to its layout of the Chinese market. On February 15, Stellantis Group announced its annual financial report data for fiscal year 2023 and announced that it will launch 18 pure electric vehicles this year. By the end of 2024, it will have 48 pure electric vehicles in the market. In addition, zero-run cars have been confirmed to enter overseas markets by way of export, such as Stellantis considering the production of zero-run sports cars in Italy if this news is true, but also conducive to the development of zero-run cars.

Wu Qiang, co-president of Zero-Run Automobile, said that the cooperation transaction between Zero-Run Automobile and Stellantis has been completed. In terms of overseas layout, the first step will enter the European market. It is expected that delivery will begin in the third quarter of this year by export mode. The first model is Zero-Run C10. At present, the car has been pre-sold in the domestic market, among which the pre-sale price of the extended range version is 1518 - 181,800 yuan, and the pre-sale price of the pure electric version is 1558 - 185,800 yuan.
