AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/03 Report--

Recently, Lanqiya Ypsilon, the first electric car of Lanqiya brand, made its debut. It is understood that the new car is positioned as a small pure electric model, built based on Peugeot's CMP/eCMP platform, and is a new model launched again after a lapse of 13 years.

In terms of appearance, the new car uses a new design language, and the front face is matched with the closed grille design commonly used by electric vehicles. The smoked panel is used as decoration above the grille, combined with the "Y" shaped LED light belt and the lightable LANCIA logo, which greatly increases the recognition of the vehicle. The position of the bumper is equipped with a large-size air intake, and the interior is filled with a large number of horizontal strips, which increases the sense of movement of the vehicle.

The rear part of the car uses a round taillight and is embellished with a "Y" light source, which echoes the large-size logo of the rear, which strengthens the fashionable atmosphere of the vehicle.

In terms of the car body, it adopts the slip-back design style, with a number of smooth lines on the side. The exterior rearview mirror, the eyebrow and the position of the rim are all blackened. Equipped with built-in door handles, multi-frame low wind resistance rims, invisible door handles and unique rear wings make the vehicle look sporty as a whole.

In terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4080/1760/1440mm. From the body ratio and details, we can see that many details are similar to Opel Corsa and Peugeot 208. they can also be regarded as sister models.

In terms of interior decoration, the overall style is relatively simple, and the interior color is mainly dark blue, which strengthens the sense of luxury in the car. Equipped with the popular double screen, the top of the center console uses a 10.25-inch double screen design, the bottom retains physical buttons, and the steering wheel is a three-frame flat-bottomed steering wheel. In terms of intelligent functions, it is equipped with SALA infotainment system and supports CarPlay, and the rear sphere can act as an intelligent assistant. At the same time, the new car is also equipped with velvet seats, interior atmosphere lights, open water cup racks, etc., to further enhance the sense of luxury in the car.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 154hp and a battery pack with a capacity of 51kWh, with a range of up to 403km under WLTP conditions. According to the official plan, the new car is expected to provide a light mixing system in the future. As a reference, the Opel Corsa light hybrid model built on the same platform has a 1.2T engine and a maximum mileage of 402km in the pure electric version.

For Lanqiya this brand, perhaps we are relatively strange, in fact, it and Citroen, Peugeot and other brands also belong to the Stellantis Group. Data show that Lancia is a famous brand with a long history in Italy, mainly in the production of luxury Lancia cars. The brand was founded in 1906 by race car driver Vincenzo Lancia and was acquired by Fiat Group of the United States in 1969. In January 2021, the symbol Citroen Group and Fiat Chrysler Group merged into the Stellantis Group, and Lancia became a sub-brand of Stellantis.

Although the Lancia brand is still relatively rare in the domestic market, it is the brand under the Fiat Group that focuses on high-end models and has gained a very good reputation in Europe. At the same time, it is also the official car in Italy. It is the symbol of the Fiat premium car.

This time, the launch of new models again after many years also means that Lanqiya brand is speeding up the transformation to electrification. According to official plans, a new Ypsilon will be launched this year, a new flagship all-electric crossover model will be launched in 2026, and the new Delta will return in the form of an electric hatchback in 2028. Starting from 2026, Lanqiya will only produce pure electric cars.

The new Lanqi Asia Ypsilon as the first pure electric model of the Lanqi sub-brand, this appearance also appears to be of great significance. However, the competition in the market of small pure electric vehicles is becoming more and more fierce. In this context, the new Lancia Ypsilon will face certain challenges if it wants to become popular.
