As Porsche's leading pure electric coupe, figures show that Porsche sold 320221 vehicles worldwide in 2023, up 3% from a year earlier, of which 79283 vehicles were delivered in China, which is still Porsche's largest single market in the world. but it is the only market in the world that has declined, down 15 per cent from a year earlier. Of this total, the Taycan model rose 17 per cent year-on-year to 40629, accounting for 12.7 per cent of Porsche's total sales. In the Chinese market, terminal data show that 4151 Taycan models were sold in 2023, accounting for 10% of the total global market. As an all-electric sports car, it is relatively mediocre compared with other Porsche models.

After entering 2024, Porsche's decline in the Chinese market has not stopped. Porsche delivered 77640 new cars worldwide in the first quarter of 2024, down 4% from a year earlier, mainly due to a sharp slowdown in delivery in North America and China, according to data. Among them, China is still Porsche's largest single market in the world, but the overall decline is very serious. It delivered only 16340 vehicles in the Chinese market in the first quarter, compared with 21365 in the same period in 2023, down 24% from the same period last year, while the North American market also fell 23%.

Porsche's performance has also plummeted as a result of falling sales. Porsche's total revenue in the first quarter of 2024 was 9 billion euros, down 10.8 per cent from a year earlier, according to the results. Of this total, vehicle sales were 8.1 billion euros, down 12.7% from the same period last year. During the reporting period, the gross margin of Porsche's automotive business was 23.4%, down 30.3% from a year earlier. Sales margin also fell to 14.2%, down 4 percentage points from a year earlier. It can be seen that in the increasingly competitive market environment, Porsche is facing performance pressure, and the contradiction between Porsche and dealers is also imminent.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time Porsche dealers have had differences with Porsche. In early 2015, Porsche dealers and Porsche China's subsidies for 2014 and 2015 business policy differences, the two sides have not reached an agreement after many exchanges. Porsche dealers said that if there is a big difference between the two sides, they will consider suspending car entry from the company in January 2015. It is understood that at that time, the number of dealers involved in "confrontation" with enterprises accounted for nearly 90% of Porsche dealers, and the platform for communicating with Porsche was the Porsche Dealers Association, which was established at the annual meeting of the China Automobile Circulation Association in November 2014.
