On June 3, Chery Holdings Group (hereinafter referred to as "Chery Group") released the latest monthly sales figures. According to the data, Chery Group sold 188556 vehicles in May 2024, up 35.5 per cent from a year earlier, with cumulative sales of 900209 vehicles from January to May, up 51 per cent from a year earlier.

In terms of brand segments, Chery sold 117939 vehicles in May, up 24 per cent from a year earlier. The cumulative sales from January to May were 583073, up 45.2 per cent from a year earlier. As an important source of sales for Chery Group, at present, Chery's products include Ruihu series, Erize series and Oumengda three major product series, with models positioned to cover small SUV, compact SUV and medium-sized SUV, among which Ruihu series and Irize series are the main sales of Chery. Retail sales show that in April 2024, the top three models sold by Chery were Ruihu 8, Arize 8 and Ruihu 9, with sales of 10678, 7916 and 3427 respectively.

The Xingtu brand sold 9467 vehicles in May, up 24.4 per cent from a year earlier. As a high-end brand of Chery, Xingtu Motor currently sells models including the wind series, the TX series, the TXL series, the moon series and the Star era STERRA series. According to the plan, the combined sales of the two domestic product lines of Xingtu and Xingera this year will be 300000 vehicles, with exports of 200000 vehicles, adding up to 500000 vehicles. In other words, Starway aims to sell 500000 cars this year. However, in terms of sales in May, it was difficult for Starway to achieve its goal. Data show that cumulative sales from January to May this year were 41195 vehicles, an increase of 27.2% over the same period last year.

The Jetway brand sold 36743 vehicles in May, up 85.4 per cent from a year earlier. The cumulative sales from January to May were 181467, up 99.9 per cent from a year earlier. Jetway is the auto product series launched by Chery Holdings Group on January 22, 2018, which once belonged to Kairui Automobile. At the beginning of its launch, it adopted the model strategy of high configuration and low price, and quickly relied on the Chery channel end for layout. According to the official website, Jettos currently sells models such as Jettos, X90 Zilong, X90 PLUS, X90, New X70S, X70 Zhuge, X70 PLUS, X70, X70M, X70 Coupe, X70S, X95 Chieftain Edition, X95 Supreme Edition, X70S-EV and Jetty Travelers. Retail data show that in April, shortcut travelers, X70 and X90 sold 10049, 5526 and 2760 respectively, Shanhai T2 2746, and the rest of the models less than 2, 000.

In terms of new energy, Chery has built Chery, Xingtuo, Jetway and iCAR to accelerate the transformation to new energy, but unfortunately, Chery is "getting up early and catching up in the evening" in the transformation of new energy. According to the data, Chery Group sold 42733 new energy vehicles in May, up 279.3% from a year earlier. The cumulative sales volume from January to May was 135861 vehicles, an increase of 168.9% over the same period last year. Although the new energy of Chery Group shows "flattening" growth, but its sales gap with the current mainstream new energy brands is not small, Chery's pace of catching up in the field of new energy needs to be accelerated.

Among the sub-brands, iCAR brand's first product, iCAR 03, sold 19679 vehicles in March, of which 6668 were sold in May. ICAR is Chery's first new energy car brand, mainly for the price range of 150000 yuan. The first product, iCAR 03, was launched on February 28th. The new car launched a total of six models with a price range of 10.98 yuan to 169800 yuan. ICAR 03 positioning hard pure electric SUV, based on i-MS multi-Rubik's cube new energy architecture, power to provide a single / a double motor version of the model choice, of which the single motor version of the maximum power of 135kW (184hp), dual-motor four-wheel drive version of the maximum power of 205kW (279hp).

On the whole, Chery Motor, Starway Motor and Jettos all achieved a good increase in May. In addition, Chery Group continued to maintain the first place in China's car exports, with a total of 435124 cars exported from January to May, an increase of 31 percent over the same period last year.

On May 9, the Xingtuxing era ET launched a total of 8 models with a price range of 189800-389800 yuan. the car is the first SUV of the Xintu Star era series, based on Chery's new E0X electric platform, positioning medium and large SUV, and providing both pure electricity and extended range on power. among them, the pure electric model uses a global 800V high voltage system and is equipped with Ningde Times Shenhang overcharge battery.

On May 21, Chery Fengyun T9 went on sale with a price range of 12.99-169900 yuan. As the first SUV of Chery Fengyun new energy product series, the car offers 5 seats and 7 seats. it is equipped with Kunpeng super C-DM hybrid system, and its comprehensive range will exceed that of 1400km.

In addition, Chery's first high-end smart car, the Smart S7, was delivered on a large scale on May 25, which will help Chery achieve its sales target with the launch of more new cars.
