AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/10 Report--
The Federation of passengers released national passenger car sales figures for July. China's car sales are about 748800, down 15.5% from the previous year, 7.2% from the same period last year, about 644300 SUV sales, down 15.2% from the previous month, up 0.8% from the same period last year. It is worth mentioning that luxury brands showed a strong growth trend in July, achieving a year-on-year increase of 24%. By contrast, mainstream joint ventures and proprietary brands performed poorly, down 4 per cent and 14 per cent respectively from a year earlier.
In terms of luxury SUV sales ranking in July, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3 ranked top three, with sales of 13226, 12357 and 9545 respectively. While Tuang, Cadillac XT5, Discovery Shenxing and Prado four SUV fell a lot.
Audi Q5 continued to make efforts, winning the championship of luxury SUV in June and winning the title again in July, with sales of 13226 vehicles, an increase of 45.7 per cent. In the face of the gradual pressure of Mercedes-Benz GLC and BMW X3, thanks to the "drop to the bottom" in the terminal market, sales immediately exploded.
Mercedes-Benz GLC retreated to second place, but its momentum was not weak, with sales of 12357 vehicles in July, an increase of 19.3%. Mercedes-Benz global sales increased sharply in July, not only in China, but also in other major markets. In the short term, Mercedes-Benz GLC terminal market offers have stabilized and may not "lower their prices" again in order to catch up with Audi Q5. Similarly, the current discount of the BMW X3 is not as big as that of the Audi Q5, resulting in a strong suppression of the BMW X3, which sold only 9545 vehicles in July.
In terms of luxury car sales in July, the top three were Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, with sales of 14165, 13388 and 13328 respectively. In addition, only Audi A6L, Pfion and Jaguar XFL luxury sedan sales fell.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class pulled down the BMW 5-Series and won the luxury car championship, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%. The strength of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is also due to the replacement of the BMW 3-Series. Due to the small early discounts of the new 3-Series, there are not many buyers, and many potential consumers may choose the Mercedes-Benz C-Class or Audi A4 instead.
The Audi A6 finally returned, from 4979 in June to 10045 in July, returning to the "10,000 cars Club". After the new Audi A6L went on the market, the monthly sales of the new Audi A6L failed to meet consumers' expectations, and the sharp increase in sales in July was also the result of the recent promotion of discounts in the terminal market.
In addition, according to the joint venture data, although the joint venture mainstream brand still occupies the top 10 position, the performance of luxury brands can not be ignored, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi and other brands' sales are very close to the joint venture mainstream brand, therefore, it is possible to surpass at any time.
Cui Dongshu believes that the reason for this obvious sales differentiation is mainly because luxury brands have a relatively smooth switch between national five and national six models, while independent brands will still have greater pressure in the short term.
In terms of luxury car sales in July, overall sales were lower than expected, but June sales were partly out of inventory, so it is to be expected that sales growth slowed in July. With the recognition of luxury cars by consumers, the sales of luxury cars will still be in a slow upward trend in the future.
