The per capita GDP of the top 10 countries on the list is more than 10000 US dollars, while that of China is 9201 US dollars, which still lags behind developed regions or countries such as Europe and the United States.

In addition, some industry experts believe that although China's car sales have skyrocketed to continued decline, reflecting the lack of car consumption power, compared with developed countries, the demand space for China's automobile consumption is still very large.

The number of cars per 1,000 people in China in 2018 is about 180, which is still a big gap from the level of major developed countries, for example, the number of 1,000 people in the United States is about 800, and that in Europe and Japan is about 500 to 600, the National Development and Reform Commission Liu Yunan said at a news conference. Therefore, for some time in the future, there is still a potential for automobile consumption, and it can even be said to be relatively large.

In 2018, China's passenger car sales reached 23.71 million, down 4.1% from the same period last year, and production and sales continued to rank first in the world. According to the Federation of passengers, the cumulative sales of passenger cars in China reached 11.44 million from January to July 2019, down 8.8 per cent from the same period last year.
