Retail sales in the domestic narrow-sense passenger car market in August were 1.923 million, with a cumulative sales of 13.215 million this year, according to retail data from the Federation of passengers. Judging from the sales list of new energy manufacturers in August, the top 10 car companies in the list are BYD Automobile, Tesla China, GAC Ean, Geely Motor, Changan Automobile, SAIC GM Wuling, ideal Automobile, Great Wall Automobile, Lulai Automobile, and Zero Motor.
Compared with July, there are no new faces in the August list, but there has been a significant change in the ranking of car companies. The top three on the list are "BAT" and "industries specifically referring to BYD (B), Eian (A) and Tesla (T)". Among them, Tesla China soared to second place from 7th in July. According to the data, BYD's sales rose 43.1 per cent year-on-year to 241592 vehicles in August and 69.2 per cent to 1627047 vehicles from January to August, with a market share of 36.6 per cent. However, according to BYD's annual sales target of 3 million, BYD's completion rate was only 54.23% by the end of August, which has not yet reached 60%.
