Influenced by the fuel pump produced by Denso Company, after many Japanese brands encounter large-scale problem model recall, another automobile enterprise will start recall in China. A few days ago, China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, which will recall a total of 16792 vehicles from October 30,2020.

Among them, 16792 domestic Mazda 6 Atz vehicles manufactured from September 20,2018 to August 8,2019 were recalled.

Due to insufficient density of impeller (made of resin) inside low pressure fuel pump core of vehicles within the scope of this recall, the impeller is swollen and deformed due to fuel influence during use, and interferes with fuel pump shell and pump cover, resulting in poor operation of low pressure fuel pump core. In some cases, the vehicle may not start or the engine may stall while the vehicle is running, which may pose potential safety hazards.

Based on the above faults, China First Automobile Group Co., Ltd. will entrust FAW Mazda Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. to replace the improved low pressure fuel pump core for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through authorized dealers to eliminate potential safety hazards.

This is not the first time Mazda brand has recalled its models. In mid-September, Chang 'an Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. also filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, which will recall a total of 29134 vehicles from October 30,2020. The reason for the recall is the same as the FAW Mazda recall.

In fact, the recall is part of a recall initiated by Denso to produce faulty fuel pumps. According to CCTV Finance quoted Japanese media reports, Japanese auto parts giant "Denso" production of fuel pumps have defects, a number of Japanese car companies are affected, using the problem fuel pumps including Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Mazda and many other Japanese car companies.

It is understood that the defects of the fuel pump of Denso Company are caused by the imperfect molding of the impeller in the manufacturing process. When the fuel pump is running, the impeller will deform, resulting in poor work. In extreme conditions, the engine may suddenly stall during vehicle driving, and there is a large potential safety hazard.

Before this, these Japanese brands have carried out the recall of the problem model, all due to the fuel pump problems, all due to the fuel pump assembly pump core impeller material density low reasons, resulting in engine flameout hidden danger.

Among the recalled models are Honda's two joint ventures in China, Guangzhou Automobile Honda and Dongfeng Honda announced a recall of more than 770,000 defective cars in China on May 29 this year.

Among them, GAC Honda recalled 396149 domestic series vehicles produced between July 1,2018 and December 31,2018. Dongfeng Honda recalled some domestic series vehicles produced between July 1,2018 and December 31,2018, totaling 378625 vehicles, all of which were recalled from June 1. The recalled models involved by the two companies almost cover all domestic models of Honda in China.

In addition, since September last year, there have been recalls of related problems in China, involving Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi and other brands, totaling more than 1.28 million vehicles. Among them, Chang 'an Mazda recalled 77112 second-generation CX-5 vehicles; recalled 26444 Onksela vehicles; recalled CX-8 vehicles, 2690 vehicles in total.

On April 18 this year, Toyota decided to recall some imported and domestic cars, involving more than 10 models totaling 257,000 vehicles, including Toyota Highlander, Camry, Prado, Crown, Lexus IS, NX, RX, etc., also due to fuel pump problems caused engine flameout.

Fuel pump problems may cause engine flameout during driving, and drivers cannot control the vehicle according to their own intentions, which is a great safety hazard. Although this recall requires large-scale accessories, it is also hoped that the manufacturer will arrange the recall as soon as possible, and the owner will replace the problematic fuel pump components as soon as possible to eliminate the hidden danger of engine flameout.
