AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)11/18 Report--

Nissan officials recently announced that they will recall 450,000 vehicles worldwide because of the potential for brake fluid leaks that could cause vehicles to catch fire. These vehicles with safety hazards are mainly concentrated in North America, and the number of recalled vehicles in the United States is 394,000.

Nissan had filed a document with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Nov. 8 saying leaks in the car's internal circuit board would warn drivers that, if ignored, could in rare cases lead to a short circuit and risk fire.

Because of the potential fire risk, Nissan has urged owners to park their vehicles outdoors, away from buildings and crowds, after the anti-lock brake lights are lit for more than 10 seconds, as a way to reduce uncontrollable negative effects.

In the U.S., Nissan's recall includes Maxima from 2016 to 2018, Infiniti SUV QX60 from 2017 to 2019, Murano from 2015 to 2018 and Pathfinder from 2017 to 2019.

A Nissan spokesman told foreign media recently that they are working hard to solve these problems and that owners of affected vehicles will receive specific notice of the recall in early December.

However, it is worth mentioning that Nissan's documents do not mention whether the above defects actually caused the fire or related casualties. According to the spokesperson, the company will continue to investigate the matter and hopes that NHTSA will provide relevant details and information.

Nissan told National Public Radio (NPR) in an e-mailed statement that once remedies are in place, owners will receive a final notification letter asking them to turn their vehicles over to an authorized Nissan dealer or Infiniti retailer to complete the recall remediation work without paying parts or labor costs.

This is the third time Nissan has initiated a vehicle recall for the same problem, and it is not ruled out that the affected vehicles will continue to expand in the future.

Nissan's first recall was initiated against the backdrop of a vehicle fire in 2016, when it recalled about 120,000 vehicles in the United States, according to relevant documents. In 2018, Nissan recalled 215,000 vehicles as a result.

According to foreign media reports, after the two recalls, Nissan dealers inspected the vehicles, but the final solution was to replace only some parts. After this recall, Nissan will replace core components more thoroughly.

Nissan recalls frequently in North America in recent years, and the reasons are complex, not just because of the brake fluid leakage problems of the above-mentioned recalls. Two months ago, NHTSA conducted a preliminary investigation into Nissan's SUV models specifically for the North American market, involving a total of 553,000 vehicles. There have been reports that automatic emergency braking systems in these cars will activate without warning or warning, posing potential dangers to driving.
