BAIC's Beijing off-road vehicle has launched a new car, which will be the brand's fourth mass-produced model. Among the off-road models on sale in Beijing, there are four models: BJ40, BJ80, BJ90 and F40, and the latest announcement is that BJ30 SUV will be available in the fourth quarter.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the basic styling of the Beijing off-road BJ30 has been confirmed that the new car is based on the previous BJ20 and follows the overall body design of BJ20. What is more interesting is that there are three similar "chromium-plated exhaust" decorations before and after the new car, which may also be the first Beijing off-road vehicle.

According to the positioning of Beijing off-road products, the future 2-4-6-8 series is mainly hard cross-country, all are non-load-bearing body; 3-5-7-9 series is more inclined to urban cross-country, using load-bearing body. Therefore, the BJ20 with load-bearing body design is renamed BJ30 to the market, which is also in line with the overall product plan of Beijing off-road.

From the real car diagram, BJ30 follows the overall body design of BJ20, and has been adjusted in many details. The new car is designed by the Beijing off-road family, and the sturdy chromium-plated intake grille is still in the five-hole style; there are three chrome-plated decorations under the front enclosure, which are unified with the exhaust ornaments at the rear, which is also a very unique design of BJ30. In addition, the rectangular fog lamp area has a black decorative frame, and the engine hatch is also provided with holes with certain functions, further highlighting the car's hard and rough style.

The side design of the new car is basically the same as that of the BJ20, with hidden A-column and B-column design on the roof, while C-column appears to be very thick. In terms of size, the BJ30 length, width and height are 4505mm, 1855mm, 1710mm respectively, wheelbase is 2675mm, positioning compact SUV, the vehicle equipment quality up to 1520kg.

In terms of power, the car uses a 1.5T engine from Dong'an, with a maximum power of 115KW, and is expected to match a six-speed manual or CVT gearbox.

According to the Beijing off-road product planning, the future brand will expand from the hard cross-country position to the "pan-cross-country SUVs" market, positioning the entry-level BJ30 market price is 100, 000 yuan, and then there are BJ50, BJ70 products launched.

In May this year, Zhang Xiyong, general manager of BAIC Group, said during the launch of the new BJ40 car: "the off-road vehicle should be said to be the leader of BAIC. In the course of more than 60 years of development, the off-road vehicle is very important to BAIC. Only by doing a good job of the off-road vehicle can BAIC become a brand." At present, the first stage is the increase in sales, and the next step is to further strengthen the modification.
