In early July, FAW Mazda, which has not released a new model for a long time, unveiled the "new generation Atez" new car, but in fact, the so-called new generation is only a modified version of the cash model, and the overall change is actually not big. The changes are mainly focused on the optimization and improvement of appearance, interior decoration and blue sky technology, and the power is still equipped with 2.0L and 2.5L naturally aspirated engines. Some netizens even said that Mazda has redefined a "new generation".

The new Atez continues the design of the overseas version of Mazda 6, and still uses the concept of "soul movement". The area of the front grille increases and the horizontal chrome strip changes into a star net, on a par with CX-5. The rest of the changes in appearance are not obvious, headlights, taillights have small changes.

The size of the car body does not change much, the length, width and height are 4870/1840/1451mm and the wheelbase is 2830mm. The new Atez 2.0L model has 17-inch wheels and the 2.5L model has 19-inch wheels, all with a bilateral exhaust layout.

The overall layout of the interior has not changed much, and the new car retains the original design style. The official introduction is to strengthen the materials, optimize and improve the sound insulation problems widely complained by Chinese users, as well as improve comfort.

In terms of power, the new Atez continues to carry 2.0L and 2.5L in-line four-cylinder naturally aspirated engines with a maximum power of 158hp and 192hp, meeting the national VI emission standards, while the transmission system is still a six-speed manual integrated gearbox.

Competitors have already completed the upgrading, slow half-beat Mazda is always late, resulting in the lack of competitiveness of the product market, sales continue to decline. Data show that Mazda sold 106345 units in China from January to June, down 27% from 145842 in the same period last year.
