FAW Red Flag released a preview of its first supercar, which will make its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 10. As for this sports car, Xu Liuping, chairman of FAW Group, once said: this year, Red Flag will be released as a heavyweight supercar among S-series products, and this car is by no means a PPT, but a mass-produced product.

At present, only three trailer pictures have been released by officials, and other information about the specific vehicles is unknown. From the picture, the new car is extremely supercar-shaped, the body uses a huge aerodynamic design, the front runs through the red flag brand-new LOGO, and the design of the headlight group and taillight group is also exaggerated. In addition, the new car has a brand new model LOGO on the rims and C-posts.

In June this year, FAW Group issued the "Red Flag supercar project international bidding announcement", the internal product code is S108, self-financing and funding sources have been implemented. In terms of content, the S-Series supercar will be similar to sports cars such as Koenigsegg, Bugatti, Pagani and Lamborghini.

The bidding conditions of the head of the Red Flag S108 supercar project include a doctorate, at least 25 years of experience in sports car product development, and at least two brands of Koenigsegg, Bugatti or Pagani supercars. As the overall project leader, he has led the team to complete the complete development and mass production of at least one model of the Koenigsegg, Bugatti or Pagani supercar brands.

Industry insiders believe: "bidding requirements are so detailed, it is estimated that the candidate has been identified, send a tailor-made announcement to come out a formality."

According to officials, the Red Flag S-Series supercar will be mass-produced.

At present, Hongqi brand has six models on sale, including two models in the field of cars and SUV, as well as pure electric models and high-end customized model Hongqi L5, which has changed the situation of long-term shortage of Hongqi brand products. By the end of August, Red Flag had built 146 experience centers.

According to official sales figures, Red Flag sold more than 10, 000 vehicles in August, with a cumulative sales of 52000 vehicles from January to August, up 231% from a year earlier.

In addition, in October 2018, FAW officially announced that FAW signed strategic cooperation agreements with 16 banks, including China Development Bank, China Construction Bank and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, which provided a total of 1.015 trillion yuan in intentional credit to FAW. Among them, Industrial Bank plans to grant 70 billion yuan of credit to FAW as a whole to support the business transformation and development of FAW Group, including subordinate enterprises and various sections.

Many people in the industry believe that the credit of 1 trillion of the funds suggests that China FAW may have a big move in the future.
