According to public reports from several media, Tesla's German super factory has been completed and is currently waiting for the approval of the local environmental protection department. If it goes well, it will start production next month at a rate of 1000 cars per week. In the first half of next year, it will probably produce no more than 30, 000 Model Y models. According to the plan, the factory was originally scheduled to start production in July this year. Even in October, Musk believes that the factory will open in November this year. Then the progress seems to be slower than he expected, and it has been two years since it was announced and completed.

Tesla CEO Musk announced that he would start building the factory in Germany on November 12, 2019, for which Tesla bought 4500 mu of land. The plant's planned annual production capacity of 500000 vehicles, more than all European brands combined, is seen as a challenge to the birthplace of cars. In addition to making cars here, Tesla also includes a battery production factory.

Mr Musk has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the German approval process because of the slow progress of the project. He sent an email to German authorities in April complaining that Germany's environmental requirements did not meet the urgency he needed.

In addition, he also needs to solve some worker problems. The Berlin factory plans to recruit 12000 workers, which has so far hired about 2000, while local trade unions are planning to elect a committee these two days, which may further slow the plant's commissioning.

At the same time, Tesla withdrew a huge subsidy application for the construction of a German battery factory. Tesla did not disclose how much subsidy he will receive, but industry insiders believe that the amount of subsidy given by the European Union to Tesla will not be less than 1.1 billion euros. Musk tweeted: "Tesla believes that all subsidies should be abolished." For some reason, the government is reluctant to do so. "

It has been reported that due to the delay in the commissioning of Tesla's Berlin super factory, he intends to start the establishment of a battery factory in California in the United States, which will cause it to fail to meet the requirements for applying for subsidies. According to the documents released by German officials, the EU requires that only companies that start producing batteries locally for the first time can receive the subsidy, which means that Tesla is restricted from producing batteries in other factories first. Therefore, Tesla chose to withdraw his application for subsidy. Perhaps it is because Germany's approval is too slow to face more approval procedures for applying for subsidies, and Mr Musk made the decision that he would rather not have subsidies. Tesla also won a near-quota tax cut in the United States, so he decided to build a German battery factory out of his own pocket.

At present, Tesla has achieved production capacity in the Fremont plant in the United States and the Shanghai super factory. Construction of Tesla's plant in Shanghai, China began a few months after signing the contract, and construction began in February 2019, and in October of that year, the first domestic Model 3 went offline and took 10 months to complete and start production. The Shanghai plant will deliver 440000 vehicles, just 50% of Tesla's global production capacity, and the Fremont plant will no longer deliver overseas from the second half of this year. Demand in Europe and other parts of Asia is supplied entirely by the Shanghai factory.

Last week, the environmental information disclosure platform of Shanghai enterprises and institutions issued an environmental impact assessment announcement on Tesla's Shanghai factory production line optimization project. The contents of the announcement show that Tesla plans to carry out the transformation of the production line, and the project will begin next month. It is expected that the transformation of the project will be completed in May next year. After the transformation is completed, Tesla Shanghai Super Factory will increase its staff by 4000, and its production capacity will be further expanded. In addition to supplying mainland China, Tesla's Shanghai factory has also supplied vehicles to other parts of the Asia-Pacific region and European markets since October 26 last year.

According to Chinese car sales data released by the Federation of passengers, Tesla sold 54391 vehicles at wholesale in October, and its export volume exceeded 40, 000 for the first time. Most of the month's production capacity was used for export. Tesla's Shanghai factory has exported nearly 150000 vehicles so far this year. Two months ago, the domestic Tesla Model Y standard continued edition directly postponed the delivery time from 4-6 weeks to next year, while Model 3 needed about 4-10 weeks.

In the first three quarters of this year, Tesla's global sales were 184877, 201304 and 241391 respectively. With the expansion of Tesla's plant in Shanghai and the commissioning of the German plant, the current long delivery waiting time will be alleviated.
