AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)04/23 Report--

In the eyes of many fans, Pajero is the representative of the Japanese hardline SUV with a high-strength hardcore non-load-bearing body. Mitsubishi's proud super-selected four-wheel drive system is nicknamed Bobcat in many off-road fans. Today, Mitsubishi announced that Pajero officially stopped production and withdrew from the Japanese market.

Since the first-generation model was unveiled at the 1973 Tokyo Motor Show to participate in the Paris Dakar Rally in 1983, Mitsubishi Pajero has gone through 36 years. In these 36 years, Pajero has constantly evolved like his brother EVO, becoming the first choice for adventurers.

At that time, Pajero released a short-wheelbase version of the three-door model with optional canvas roofs. This is the first generation of Pajero, who won the Paris Dakar Rally in 1983. Pajero became an instant hit. At that time, there were only four Mitsubishi vehicles participating in Dakar, two of which were backup vehicles. The race was finished first, second and fifth, respectively. Since then, Mitsubishi was the champion and runner-up in the Dakar Rally from 1984 to 1985.

In 1997, Dakar abolished the T3 prototype group and banned the use of gasoline turbine engines. To this end, Mitsubishi launched the third-generation Pajelosai model with a 6G74 3.5L V6 engine. And this car also lived up to expectations, sweeping the top four of the total results. Japanese driver Kenjiro Sakura won the championship in 61 hours, 58 minutes and 31 seconds, becoming the first Japanese driver to win the championship in Dakar history.

Mitsubishi, which used the Pajero EVO from 1998 to 1999, did well in the top three of the race.

In 2001, Mitsubishi once again used the MRP11 car to participate in Dakar and won the first and second place. This Pajero is no longer a Pajero with a non-load-bearing body, but a purer car with a steel tube body and a sequential gearbox, but it remains the same as Mitsubishi used him to compete in Dakar and won.

From 2002 to 2007, when Mitsubishi was at its best, Mitsubishi formed a monopoly posture to win, when Peter Hansel, king of the 2002 rally, joined the Mitsubishi Rally team and firmly dominated the entire Dakar arena. This even made many opponents feel frightened when they saw Mitsubishi and red Repsol's painting.

Pajero's life cycle frame numbers from V29, V31, V73 are non-load-bearing bodies with engines ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 liters of gasoline and 2.5 diesel engines. Both V75 and V77 use enhanced body-carrying frames. The following is that we can often see V31 and V33 models are produced by domestic Zhanjiang Samsung Automobile and Changfeng Automobile Group in the way of CKD assembly.

In our country, because of its excellent off-road performance and durability, it has always been the first choice for vehicles by functional departments such as the Public Security Bureau, the Procuratorate, the Court, and the military. Pajero's family covers four levels of large, medium, small and micro models, so we will no longer describe them one by one here. Interested friends can learn about it.
