2019 crash test results: five cars performed badly and two special cars crashed badly

Since its birth, the China Insurance Automobile Safety Index (C-IASI) of PICC Research has quickly covered up the C-NCAP of the China Automotive Center, and many models have achieved poor results under the crash test of C-IASI, revealing the current situation of suspected Jerry building and insufficient structural safety strength design. For example, Dongfeng Honda Civic, BYD Song MAX, SAIC Volkswagen Tuguan L, and so on.

As of Sept. 21, C-IASI released test results for the first batch of models in 2019, with a total of nine models. Including Volvo XC60, Nissan Teana, Saab D50, Harvard F5, Hyundai Festa, Fengshen AX7, Mitsubishi Outlander, Cadillac XT4 and Honda Ling, only three models ended up doing well.

Volvo XC60, Nissan Teana and Cadillac XT4 get excellent (G) evaluation in occupant safety index, pedestrian safety index and auxiliary safety index, and poor crashworthiness and maintenance economy index (P).

Originally, there was no Dongfeng Nissan Teana in the list of the first batch of models, but later the manufacturers took the initiative to apply for testing. From the results, it may have deviated from what netizens expected.

Nissan Teana has an overall rating of G in terms of occupant safety. Among them, the 25% offset collision of 64km/h, the side impact of 50km/h, roof strength, seat / headrest (i.e. whiplash injury test) are all rated G.

From the point of view of the results, the collision results of the three mainstream Japanese B-class cars between Teana and the Camry are basically the same, which is better than that of Accord.

However, the performance of Sima, another Dongfeng Nissan B-class sedan, is not ideal, with a 25% offset crash score of M, a vehicle structure of P, and a serious crew cabin collapse.

Harvard F5 as a domestic car, the collision performance is also OK, due to the lack of side air curtain, resulting in poor side collision performance, serious loss of points.

In terms of passenger safety in the Harvard F5, the overall rating is A (good). Of these, 64km/h 's 25% offset crash rating is A (good), 50km/h 's side crash rating is M (General), and the roof strength and seat / headrest (i.e. whiplash injury test) ratings are G (excellent).

In the side collision, the head protection of the driver and the back passenger, as well as the protection of the driver's torso, all lose points in varying degrees, which is largely due to the lack of important side air curtain configuration.

The safety performance of the other five models is not satisfactory, including three joint venture models (Ling Pai, Outlander and Festa) and two domestic cars (Saab D50 and Fengshen AX7).

Joint venture brand Chinese special models perform poorly in C-IASI, and GAC Honda Ling Pie is also a special supply car. The main loss lies in the 25% offset collision in the front, the distortion of the cockpit, the bending of the A column, and the injury to the driver and crew of the side impact.

In the 25% offset collision on the front of the 64km/h, the Honda Lingpai has invaded the cockpit, the A-pillar was extruded and bent obviously, and the shape of the door became larger. Another missing item was the large amount of invasion in the lower part of the crew cabin, and the structural strength may be unreasonable. Side impact due to the lack of airbag protection on the front and rear sides, the dummy's head directly collided with the window glass and C-pillar, resulting in head and neck damage, and the final rating was low.

Another special car Beijing Hyundai Festa, the safety situation is even more worrying. The vehicle had a 25% bias collision at the speed of 64km/h, the Festa nose collapsed slightly, the upper part of the A-column was seriously bent, and the side beam between the AB columns was also out of position; the front structure of the cockpit was obviously deformed, and the driver's legs and feet were injured and lost points. Compared with the Ling faction, Festa's cockpit collapse shape is larger.

In the side collision, the final result of Festa is not ideal, whether it is to protect the driver or the occupant. In addition to being related to the structure of the vehicle, the low-equipped model lacks side air curtains, resulting in injuries to the people in the car in the collision.

Mitsubishi Oland also performed poorly in the crash, with none of the four tests of the occupant safety index getting a G.

Judging from the results of 32 test cars announced by C-IASI so far, there is an obvious gap between the joint venture brand and foreign countries, some domestic versions are obviously different, and the joint venture brand special supply car is a fiasco. The overall performance of self-branded cars is not very ideal, and the lack of airbag configuration is the main point of loss. It is hard to predict the "home-made cars" that cannot stand the test.
